As outlined in my last post, I spent another day in Dreamworld & Whitewater World to make full use of my unlimited world-pass. This time we went on a Wednesday which means there were hardly any visitors as it’s a usual school/work-day.
As Kathy has never been to Dreamworld before, we went on all the fun rollercoasters I already reported about the last time I was at Dreamworld.
Additonally we tried the Thunder River Rapids Ride which was a bit lame, and a motobike-rollercoaster Mick Doohan’s Motocoaster which was really fun!
Summary of Dreamworld
It’s quite enjoyable to spend one day at Dreamworld. It’s not too big but has a couple fun Thrill-Rides. Probably if you want to go there with your children it’s even better because there are also a lot of family- and kids-rides! But if you go there twice – at least in such a short interval – it already gets kinda boring.
Luckily you can also go to Whitewater World if you own the unlimited World Pass. We didn’t have too much time left, but went there for about 1hour.
It’s possible to access Whitewater World directly from Dreamworld if you pass the Billabong- Store. Whitewater World has a lot of pools, slides and other fun water-stuff. As it’s winter right now, there were hardly any people and not every attraction was opened but therefore we didn’t have to wait very long for the different rides. I was able to try out 3 different slides:
Super Tubes Hydrocoaster
That’s the first ride we tried. You’re seated in a kind of a inflatable boat that has space for 3people. I tried to film it, but I wasn’t able to film the first steep part as it was too fast for getting the camera out of my pocket! But anyway, just have a look :).
The Green Room
At this ride you’re seated on a 4 person cloverleaf tube, going down from 75meters to 15m through a huge green funnel. It is really really fun! Unfortunately I couldn’t film it anymore as the lifeguards told me I wasn’t allowed to take a camera on any of those rides…
If you want to see what this ride looks like, just visit Whitewater World – The Green Room!
The Wedgie is a slide where you don’t have any tube to sit on, it’s just your body in a big slide! You wait inside a pipe with your arms crossed behind your head and suddenly plummet through a trap door with your feet first into a really fast and exciting ride. It is simply awesome! Quite a short ride, but really fast and fun! Especially the feeling when you’re waiting for the trap door to open :D.
Though the video is not nearly showing how fun the ride really is, you can have a look at it if you want: Whitewater World – The Wedgie
Summary Whitewater World
Altough I was only able to try out 3rides at Whitewater World, it was really fun. If I’d live nearby, I could imagine going there quite often in summer simply to have a little more fun than just in a common swimming-pool.
Summary Unlimited World Pass
With about 100AUD, the unlimited World Pass is definitely not cheap! But compared to the 1Day-Pass which is just 10-20AUD cheaper, it is really worth it. Why?
With the unlimited World Pass you can visit Dreamworld, Whitewater World and Skypoint as often as you want within one year! And even though I could only use it for 1week, it was worth it.
On the observation deck of Skypoint in Surfers Paradise you have an amazing view above the Gold Coast. In Dreamworld there were a couple fun rollercoasters and Whitewater World is for sure something you don’t want to miss in summer!
What’s next on my 56days AustralianTravelTrip?
On Saturday (tomorrow), I’ll go on a One-Day-Trip to Stradbroke Island with my Australian Family. And on Monday I’ll probably leave to continue my TravelTrip by traveling up the east-coast from Brisbane to Cairns with a few stops to see the Fraser Islands, Whitsunday Islands and Magnetic Island.
Further information will follow within the next days. I’ll keep you posted :).
