At the end of my 56days AustralianTravelTrip, I spent 2more days in Darwin and Batchelor. And on Tuesday I already had to fly back to Germany…
Back in Batchelor and Darwin
Sunday 12:45pm, my plane from Cairns to Darwin departs. After only 1.5days in Cairns I already had to move on. This time, I was flying with Jetstar… The plane wasn’t that bad but the service is of course not as good as on my Qantas-Flights. I even had to pay for drinks+snacks… Anyway, about 2.5hours later I arrived in Darwin where Mike picked me up. Back in Batchelor everything seemed really familiar to me and I enjoyed it a lot to meet Mike & Judy again.
One day later – on monday – I already left Batchelor at noon to get to Darwin. Got my camera exchanged once again at Harvey Norman, locked my luggage at the Airport and then went to town.
As my flight was departing at 3 o’clock at night, I had plenty of time left to explore Darwin. But to be honest, it wasn’t too exciting. After having dinner near the beach where we watched a beautiful sunset, my brother and I didn’t really know what to do and how to spend all the hours until our check-in time. So we decided to walk to the Airport all the way from the beach. It took us about 3hours to walk those 13km. Of course it was exhausting but therefore time passed by really quickly.
Flight back to Germany
The flight back to Germany startet with a short flight (about 4.5 hours) from Darwin to Singapore with SilkAir. Unfortunately my foot got swollen during that flight and hurt really badly again, but at least the flight wasn’t too long. In Singapore we had an 8hours stopover, were I slept most of the time and then another 13hours flying from Singapore to Frankfort. I’m glad I got a seat next to the emergency-exit, so I had a lot of space for my foot to regenerate. Also the service of Singapore Airlines was excellent once again and there were plenty of good movies and tv-shows I could chose to watch during that flight. All in all, an enjoyable flight!
