Goldcoast Main Beach
Goldcoast Main Beach is a nice white-sand-beach next to Surfers Paradise. As this area is known for it’s waves, many people come here with their boogie- or surfboards. But also a lot of people enjoy swimming at the Main Beach as the water is quite shallow.
Although the lifeguards have to rescue several tourists every year! Therefore it is only allowed to go swimming within the area marked by two flags.
I took the opportunity to test my new camera which was supposed to be waterproof (- it is :D) and of course went swimming for a few minutes. But as it’s winter at the moment, the water was quite chilly!
Q1 – Skypoint
From the main-beach we could already see the Q1-Tower. It didn’t seem too far, so my cousin and I decided to walk there. We noticed quite soon that it was actually further than we thought! It took us about 1hour until we finally arrived at the Skypoint-Entrance. But like that we got the chance to see more of the Goldcoast, so it wasn’t too bad.
Skypoint – Observation Deck
The Elevator takes you up to the 77th floor in 40seconds. During this time, you can watch at the screen above you where you’re going (camera on top of the elevator). When we arrived up there, we of course did a short walk around the deck to see everything. A guy was playing live-music, couches are set up to make your stay comfortable and you can order drinks and food at the restaurant on this deck (btw: their Mojito is really delicous).
